Plant dyed yarn

Months ago I got these beautiful skeins of plant dyed yarn from my friend Sofie. I was stunned by the vivid colours, and thought long and hard about what I wanted to use them for.

First I decided to make a pot holder. I crochet two similar sized rounds and stitched them together.

Next, I felted it in the washing machine. Super simple and fun to make! Perfect gift as well.

Lately I've seen a lot of basic weaving techniques on Pinterest, and I was really inspired to try circular weaving (just google it, there's loads of tutorials out there). I used the wonderful plant dyed yarn and paired it up with whatever yarn leftovers I had at home - turquoise and purple.

I'm so happy with the outcome, it's feels very Mayan inspired colourwise. Do try this! It's so easy and very, very fun.
